Friends of Azhar For the last fifteen years Azharuddin has devoted his services to Indian cricket. He has proven himself both in test match cricket and in the one-day version; and is considered one of the greatest batsmen of his era. His impressive record (21 test centuries and over 9000 one-day runs) speaks for itself. He also has the honour of being the most successful Indian captain ever. However the powers that be in Indian cricket do not think that the man with the magic wrists deserves a place in the national side (even though he may score runs-a-plenty in the local ranji trophy). It is sad to see the ungrateful manner the Board of cricket control is treating Azhar. He deserves a chance to prove himself once again or at the least a graceful farewell. We the Friends of Azhar must do everything within our powers to help Azharuddin. Thus we beg you people to write articles, have signature campaigns, make web sites, send letters/emails to newspapers and TV channels, and anything else you can think of. The powers that be have to answer the following questions - Why is Azhar not getting the respect due to him? Why is he not in the Indian Cricket team? |
